About

My background is in illustrating Picture Books, and after several books and a change in style I found that for me, playful observational drawing in sketchbooks was the key to enjoying a creative practice. I take a sketchbook everywhere and draw anything, from the dentist checking my kids’ teeth to the view from a rooftop car park.

Sketchbook work feeds into my character design for stories, prop design and fabrication, toy design for Jelly Cat, Family Art Workshops, and printed products too.

I’m drawn to exploring the magic of imaginary worlds and creatures, of discovery and bravery, of places that we love and of finding lost things.
